Community Outreach

At Nexus, we believe our company has an economic and social responsibility to contribute in a positive way to the communities where our employees and customers work and live. Giving back is deeply rooted in the Nexus culture, and our employees continually demonstrate their generosity and support of their local community through gifts of their time and financial contributions. We are proud of the impact our employees make on others, and will continue to support their efforts through sponsorships and volunteerism.

Employees Making Positive Contributions

Special thanks to Rodney McCoy, Courier Supervisor for Nexus, for his personal time and effort behind organizing and managing the Get Smart Sports National Basketball Tournament held July 13-15 in Conway, AR.  The Nexus-sponsored event played host to 3rd through 12th grade boys and girls teams from around the country.   Get Smart Sports is a philanthropic organization developed to provide youth with positive life solutions through sports.

Other Nexus employees volunteering their time included Tony McCoy as a referee and Brenda Bruce collecting entries at the door.  According to Tony, “everyone involved played a major role in touching the lives of youth through sports, while leaving a lasting footprint on the community.”  The national tournament was able to generate approximately $130,000 of revenue and awarded ten different kids $500 scholarships.  The funds generated by Get Smart Sports will go toward hosting future events, as well as providing financial assistance for local economically-challenged sports teams.
